NORTHLAND GUITAR

Affordable In-Home Music Lessons in Grand Rapids, MI

Our vision: At Northland Guitar, our goal is to give our students the tools they need to be confident musicians and passionate worshipers.

Meet The Instructor:

Hi I'm Collin, multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, worship leader, and founder of Northland Guitar. My journey as a musician began in 2005 at the age of 13. After a year of private lessons and 7 years of studying music theory and guitar technique, I began teaching my own students in 2013. I currently work with over 20 students teaching guitar, bass, ukulele, mandolin, and banjo. Along with teaching, I also host an open mic weekly at The Monarchs Club in Grand Rapids, play with the band Ten Peso Version, and perform in the orchestra for Arise Collective Theater.

In 11 years of teaching, I have experienced the many joys and rewards of seeing my students blossom into knowledgeable and skillful musicians. There is truly nothing more rewarding than seeing children and adults who know nothing about music become confident musicians. Through a variety of traditional and modern teaching methods, I aim to accommodate the goals and needs of each student wherever they're at in their musical journey. My goal is to make lessons fun, challenging, and inspiring. My students will learn the skills and gain the tools and encouragement they need to be proficient in a multitude of genres such as contemporary worship, acoustic fingerstyle, folk, rock, and jazz.

If you're looking for a music teacher in the greater Grand Rapids area who has integrity, is passionate about teaching, enjoys working with children, and offers affordable rates, look no further!

"I love listening to music, but I never thought I'd be able to create any. After lessons with Collin, I see the true value in pursuing guitar. His patience and ability to adapt to my learning style really encouraged me to continue to learn and hone my skills. Now, I have an ability that lasts a lifetime that I can share with my family. He's an amazing teacher!"
